Tomato on homemade coleslaw and cheese!

Meat-free lifestyle is difficult for me, but I can do a meal without meat 🙂

Since our fridge is broken (freezer’s working though, weird) and techs gonna fix it some time today, I decided to use all the veggies left in it and make a vegan sandwich since I’m hungry!

Recipe for: Tomato on a hill of coleslaw and cheese sandwich!

Homemade coleslaw: 1/2 shredded cabbage, onions, 1cup mayo, 2cloves minced garlic, olive oil, 1tbsp vinegar, pepper, cheese (go for it)

Sandwich: toast 2 breads with thick slices of cheese with tomato and onions on top.

After toasting put a mountain of coleslaw on top of the toast and top it again with tomato slices and onions!

Bon appetit!

Tips When Jogging: #9

Jogging/Running Tip #9: Look Ahead

I just came back from an hour and a half jog. I was only intending to do a 30 min jog but alas, the trail was too long.

Tips when jogging: #10

Never put money in your sock or shoe! It will slip in, then out to who-knows-where while you’re running!

So. I’ve been running for years, I go on light runs whenever I get the urge to, but today I ran late at 6 in the evening in an unfamiliar trail, I know that it’s a long route but I’m unfamiliar with the area so I brought a small bill with me just in case i needed it.

It was late and as usual, I was alone, so I didnt bring my phone or a music player and told myself to focus on just running!

Bottomline I didnt bring anything else with me and the only area I can slip a bill (for when i decided to take a cab home) in was my sock, when I got home it was gone.. boo. I hope whoever found it used it well. Sigh~ That’s that, I think it happened to me before but I forgot that dumb experience, will never do it again!

So, Yoga, exercise and healthy eating are fun, but I’ve been drowning myself with pearl shakes, pearl teas, milk teas, pearl milk teas from various establishments, I can’t help myself, it’s like every time i pass the stores the large plastic tumblers are calling me and in a trance, i go to them and buy the biggest, sweetest one with additional pearls! as if fraps and cappuccinos aren’t enough. sigh. so this year I’m (not ditching them but..) opting for a healthier alternative! planning on replacing the blender and juicer with a more easy-to-use version so i can make these smoothie recipes whenever i want/need and not worry about cleaning up!!

I’m sharing these recipes I found on, seriously, healthy drinks are a must but it’s healthier if we make them instead of buying overpriced ones.

A snapshot.

2014. Start!

Look forward…

look forward! There is no looking back now.

Life is like driving, if you look back you crash. There will always be something in front to reflect the past so you don’t have to worry of forgetting. You have to drive your own car and not crash into others for it’ll do both of you harm… and finally the outside shell doesn’t always define the driver.

If you have a rotten attitude change it, it’s like driving with flat tires, you can’t go anywhere with it.

Let’s talk about fear

Fear is what makes us human… without it, we are like God, okay, not really.. but if you want to swing in that way of thought, fine. Without fear, we are like God but stripped of all divine power including immortality. Meaning, without fear, there will be a time in one’s life where one can feel invincible and empowered, but since we’re not divine beings at all, we are prone to aging and deterioration. Those two are the roots of fear.

I think this is what makes us closer to God, to remind us of him. Love is what makes us his children.  Life is hard, it is never easy. If it were then you’re doing something wrong. But the greatest obstacles are overcome by the greatest men.

It’s hard to always smile and laugh when there’s nothing to laugh about, but in this situation we still find something to make us feel good. If you we can’t find that something, what do we do?

Not to sound preachy but here goes..

We are all put here on earth, born, for different purposes, we know this much. But to find the perfect place, like Buddha, Mother Theresa, Spielberg, Walt Disney, Albert Einstein, Michio Kaku, Masashi Kishimoto, Dr. Jose Rizal, Galileo Galilei, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs… I think it’s not enough to know ourselves and our purpose but to act on them.

As for me, I grew up all my life with a smile. Always imagining, never thinking… and then the day finally came that I used my brain not to visualize but to THINK, and I saw that the world was not a dream. That people really do live their lives in constant fear. Worry. Stressed and anxious.

health. money. children. growing up alone. marrying. jobs.

Is this really what being human is all about? To worry now and give birth to children? Procreate? Again, is this the destiny of the human race?

On another note, my mom said, if you want to reach the clouds aim for the moon, for if you don’t get to reach the moon, you’ll fall on the clouds. (och, how nice that sounded)

So, if you want to reach the moon and the stars, aim for Pluto! So that you’ll have more than 10 fall-backs:  MARS, JUPITER, SATURN, URANUS, NEPTUNE, and their respective moons.

Talking complete baloney again.

I guess what I’m saying is that, fear is a a part of human existence, a part of life but it’s not meant to consume us, it’s meant to empower us and eventually free us at best. So that’s it for my musings for today.

Cheers you guys!
