Honey, sugar and coffee exfoliator

\^O^/ I made my own all organic exfoliator earlier and had it on the whole fourth quarter of the spurs vs trailblazers game! Spurs won yay! Tony was on fire… and I’m getting sidetracked..

I have lots of masks and exfoliators I haven’t been using and haven’t opened yet but today I wanted to make my own,

Using ingredients I know about:

Pure honey 1 tbsp- anti acne

Brown Sugar 2 tbsp- to remove dead skin

Ground coffee 1tbsp- to tighten up skin

Ascorbic Acid/Vitamin C 200mg – rejuvinate

Lime 1/3 tsp – to brighten up complexion

Olive oil 1/2 tsp- moisturize (it doesn’t clog pores)

It was sticky and sweet, it felt good on the skin. I was lying down while watching the game. It’s not runny as long as the liquids don’t overpower the solids. 1:3 ratio.

I had it on a full 30 minutes. Don’t rub it hard on your face. Weird since I had a huge blackhead on my nose, but after rinsing it was gone. I was happy with that since I didnt want to… you know.. pop it.

Rinse with cold water after. I cleansed with Cetaphil, although I probably shouldnt have. I toned and moisturized lightly.

Voila-

Extreme Makeover Weightloss Edition S03 ep13

I love Chris Powell (@realchrispowell) and his shows, the one I’m watching is Extreme Makeover Weightloss Ed. Season 3 from ‘abc’ but I’m using youtube to access it since it’s not available in my country.

image

Watched all seasons since last year, every one of them touching, inspiring and educational. This 13th episode from Season 3 with Bob is the warmest for me it made me me realize more about life. Because although all of the clients were overly passionate and hardworking, Bob made me realize more how there will always be problems: whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you are. Problems will always be there, you’ll always feel it and see it, the thing with problems is that they come with solutions.

Being human, the way to move forward and be happier is to face problems one by one. To solve the one in front of you and move onto the next. Weight, looks, superficial, physical, emotional, material… whatever form it is, solve one first before moving onto the next.

That’s life and I guess Bob’s episode showed me that being honest with myself doesn’t have to be dramatic or heavy. Just ne honest, solve it, live then move on then solve the next one.

This is a touching reality show, I dont know Chris Powell personally but for him to have a show like this where real life is documented with real life problems  (not just weight) shared to the world and solutions offered to them is just mind-blowing and inspiring.

This guy hopefully is just as a nice guy in person as he is on TV because I admire how he just goes out there and how he knows how to handle people.

If I werent in my 20’s I’d say I wanna be just like him!

Honey cashew oats muffin :)

image

Honey cashew oats muffin. The catalyst for this random baking moment was a novel where the lead’s name was #Muffin (a dude which made it bizarre). I’m not really a muffin-person but the book had all 26 chapters titled after a muffin (blueberry, cherry, corn… muffin, yumm) it was impossible not to crave. I abandoned the book and decided to bake some since, 1. I dunno where to buy fresh muffins 2. I wanted particular flavors in it.

So here it is, the proof that I easily get distracted and that I always do well on my first try even unprepared. Kkk.

RECIPE

Ingredients dry: 1 1/2 cups quick oats, 1cup flour, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 3 tsp baking powder, nuts or raisins, 1/3 tsp salt

Wet: 1/3 cup oil, 1 egg, 1/3 cup honey, 1/2 cup milk, 2/3 tsp mayonaisse

Heat oven to 400F. Combine dry ingredient. Set aside. Combine wet ingredients thoroughly, mix in the dry ingredients. Put into muffin cups (makes 12 medium cups/ 7 large). Bake for 15-18 minutes.

Tip: to keep moist put in 1/2cup of water inside the oven (make sure your container is oven safe)

Enjoy!

working out with the walking dead

image

In the midst of my ‘the walking dead’ withdrawal when while working out I happen to switch onto fox to find a  TWD marathon. Seriously, anyway, it’s summer and to be able to achieve that summer bod we have to lay off junkfood… which is difficult to the extreme (well prolly not that extreme) but well… I’m having a hard time not touching junkfood. Heh. But will try harder!

Pre.Pro.Post Workout Winkibus: flashbacks

I love working out. I especially love running and swimming, but see, swimming makes me focus more than running but running is more accessible and requires less preparation, for me and as a woman, so I tend to run more nowadays.

So I ran for an hour and just came back and I immediately blogged (while waiting for my bod to cool down for a bath.).

I am soooo lazy! But i feel like a hollowblock whenever I miss a workout schedule. Do you feel crappy whenever you planned to workout but failed to follow through?

So, i forced my ass out of the couch and ran. And now Im cooling down.

🙂 While jogging/running I thought about the difference between running when I was 10-15 y/o, compared to now that Im in my 20’s. Thing about running is that your thoughts easily come and go, because you’re active they come more freely and clearly.

It’s so weird how as we grow in years we develop flashbacks, memories. Whereas when we were younger we just run looking forward and never back.

I dont know if it’s just me and because I always run in the same path. I try to focus on my breathing but my mind wanders.

My flashbacks werent bad memories though, just things that occured in the past and I just happen to digest and understand the effects of those past actions in my current life. Ugh so weird.

Anyhow, post exercise is the best, I may be lazy sometimes but I realized that I owe it to my body, to exercise and carefully maintain the shell that house my mortal soul! Haha. How poetic was that? Im gonna end my rant here. 🙂

Be healthy everyone!
