I love Chris Powell (@realchrispowell) and his shows, the one I’m watching is Extreme Makeover Weightloss Ed. Season 3 from ‘abc’ but I’m using youtube to access it since it’s not available in my country.
Watched all seasons since last year, every one of them touching, inspiring and educational. This 13th episode from Season 3 with Bob is the warmest for me it made me me realize more about life. Because although all of the clients were overly passionate and hardworking, Bob made me realize more how there will always be problems: whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you are. Problems will always be there, you’ll always feel it and see it, the thing with problems is that they come with solutions.
Being human, the way to move forward and be happier is to face problems one by one. To solve the one in front of you and move onto the next. Weight, looks, superficial, physical, emotional, material… whatever form it is, solve one first before moving onto the next.
That’s life and I guess Bob’s episode showed me that being honest with myself doesn’t have to be dramatic or heavy. Just ne honest, solve it, live then move on then solve the next one.
This is a touching reality show, I dont know Chris Powell personally but for him to have a show like this where real life is documented with real life problems (not just weight) shared to the world and solutions offered to them is just mind-blowing and inspiring.
This guy hopefully is just as a nice guy in person as he is on TV because I admire how he just goes out there and how he knows how to handle people.
If I werent in my 20’s I’d say I wanna be just like him!
Honey cashew oats muffin. The catalyst for this random baking moment was a novel where the lead’s name was #Muffin (a dude which made it bizarre). I’m not really a muffin-person but the book had all 26 chapters titled after a muffin (blueberry, cherry, corn… muffin, yumm) it was impossible not to crave. I abandoned the book and decided to bake some since, 1. I dunno where to buy fresh muffins 2. I wanted particular flavors in it.
So here it is, the proof that I easily get distracted and that I always do well on my first try even unprepared. Kkk.
Ingredients dry: 1 1/2 cups quick oats, 1cup flour, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 3 tsp baking powder, nuts or raisins, 1/3 tsp salt
Wet: 1/3 cup oil, 1 egg, 1/3 cup honey, 1/2 cup milk, 2/3 tsp mayonaisse
Heat oven to 400F. Combine dry ingredient. Set aside. Combine wet ingredients thoroughly, mix in the dry ingredients. Put into muffin cups (makes 12 medium cups/ 7 large). Bake for 15-18 minutes.
Tip: to keep moist put in 1/2cup of water inside the oven (make sure your container is oven safe)
In the midst of my ‘the walking dead’ withdrawal when while working out I happen to switch onto fox to find a TWD marathon. Seriously, anyway, it’s summer and to be able to achieve that summer bod we have to lay off junkfood… which is difficult to the extreme (well prolly not that extreme) but well… I’m having a hard time not touching junkfood. Heh. But will try harder!
Wow. Screenwriters are really, really getting themselves busy huh? First ‘the mortal instruments’ and now Vampire Academy. But honestly though, I’m not complaining, it’s every author’s dream to be movie-fied, it’s good publicity and they reach out to people who don’t really read often.
The tricky part is that most of the time books/novels/manga/comics which are turned into films get ruined. The film version tends to ‘Shatter the Illusion’ if not done right!
I call it: shooting the magic out of the book.
Film adaptations tend to smell like- Money. While the reason the novels became bestsellers was because of the heart.
Hey now, there are amazingly awesome, off-the-roof adaptations: HP, LOTR, Hunger Games even Twilight were translated to film wonderfully, but there are times when scriptwriters run ouy of fuel and producers have to to bestsellers for possible plots! And that’s when everything gets ruined.
This year I am looking forward to watching two movies!
One originally a Manga adapted into an Anime and now turned into a Movie the for the second time: Rurouni Kenshin!
Second is the one mention above, Vampirr Academy, the novel was introduced to me by my little sister, she told me it’s like Vampire Knight (which Ive been proudly a fan of for 10 years- i am a dork, wow) and nothing like that other vampire movie- which is true since Rose Hathaway is kickass, badass and all around fatale.
But wow, I wonder how scriptwriters earn the big bucka through this..
That aside, I was a happy reader reading the stories on paper/tablet, very happy and inspired! Books, Manga & Comic Books do that to me, just wish the movie would be worth it, I mean, yep.
