I’m afraid I can’t explain myself sir, because I’m not myself you see.

Good evening. I’m very pensieve at the moment, actually for the past couple of months/years, but more so at the moment.

To break out of my melancholic state, I decided to watch some entertaining Celebrity YouTube videos (Learning Japanese Kanji is making me think too much.) I was enjoying myself until I came upon an interview with a rising celebrity, who I didn’t know was also a known blogger.

What’s Shakin?

So, last week I decided to start the “Smoothie Habit” because I want to drop caffeine entirely.

I love drinking smoothies and shakes but before, I’d rather spend money on store-bought ones than make them myself because I thought it was tedious.. Peeling fruits, crushing ice and cleaning the blender seemed like a CHORE.

But as my desperation to get rid of coffee heightened, I figured I needed a healthier alternative for it aside from tea: juicing or blending.

Lu Xiao Yu (Secret OST- Jay Chou)

It’s been a while!

I’ve been learning Lu Xiao Yu (Rain) from Jay Chou’s movie “Secret”.

Saw the movie with my sis 7 years ago, wow time surely flies. There are many great pieces in that film, most famous is the “Time Travel” piece.

I’ve never paid attention to Lu Xiao Yu before until I heard PianoMike play it two weeks ago.

I’m just mesmerized by the romantic and solemn melody and decided to share. 🙂

Tips when jogging: #10

Never put money in your sock or shoe! It will slip in, then out to who-knows-where while you’re running!

So. I’ve been running for years, I go on light runs whenever I get the urge to, but today I ran late at 6 in the evening in an unfamiliar trail, I know that it’s a long route but I’m unfamiliar with the area so I brought a small bill with me just in case i needed it.

It was late and as usual, I was alone, so I didnt bring my phone or a music player and told myself to focus on just running!

Bottomline I didnt bring anything else with me and the only area I can slip a bill (for when i decided to take a cab home) in was my sock, when I got home it was gone.. boo. I hope whoever found it used it well. Sigh~ That’s that, I think it happened to me before but I forgot that dumb experience, will never do it again!

Smoothies!

So, Yoga, exercise and healthy eating are fun, but I’ve been drowning myself with pearl shakes, pearl teas, milk teas, pearl milk teas from various establishments, I can’t help myself, it’s like every time i pass the stores the large plastic tumblers are calling me and in a trance, i go to them and buy the biggest, sweetest one with additional pearls! as if fraps and cappuccinos aren’t enough. sigh. so this year I’m (not ditching them but..) opting for a healthier alternative! planning on replacing the blender and juicer with a more easy-to-use version so i can make these smoothie recipes whenever i want/need and not worry about cleaning up!!

I’m sharing these recipes I found on http://www.fitnessmagazine.com, seriously, healthy drinks are a must but it’s healthier if we make them instead of buying overpriced ones.

 

Delicious Smoothie Recipes

 

PB&J Smoothie
4 ounces plain nonfat Greek yogurt
2 cups chopped fresh or frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana, chopped
2 teaspoons smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup ice

Nutrition facts per smoothie: 327 calories, 18g protein, 55g carbohydrate, 7g fat (1.4g saturated), 9g fiber, 94mg sodium

Tropical Morning Smoothie
6 ounces plain nonfat Greek yogurt
1/2 cup fresh or frozen mango chunks
1/2 cup fresh pineapple chunks
1 frozen banana, chopped
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed

Nutrition facts per smoothie: 368 calories, 22g protein, 60g carbohydrate, 7g fat (0.9g saturated), 9g fiber, 68mg sodium

Sweet Spinach Smoothie
6 ounces plain nonfat Greek yogurt
2 cups spinach leaves, packed
1 ripe pear, peeled, cored, and chopped
15 green or red grapes
2 tablespoons chopped avocado
1 to 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice

Nutrition facts per smoothie: 316 calories, 21g protein, 52g carbohydrate, 6g fat (0.9g saturated), 9g fiber, 115mg sodium
